ORBITAL ATHERECTOMY – A Robust technique in Coronary Intervention

SARAT CHANDRA AND CARDIOLOGY TEAM CONSISTING OF DR. SHASHI AND TECHNICIANS NAVEEN AND SRINIVAS PERFORMED A NEW TECHNIQUE OF CORONARY INTERVENTION CALLED ORBITAL ATHERECTOMY. THIS TECHNIQUE INVOLVES A DIAMOND COATED BURR THAT CUTS A CALCIFIED LESION. THE PATIENT HAD A LONG-CALCIFIED LESION IN PROXIMAL TO MID LAD (left anterior descending artery). INITIALLY OCT WAS DONE FOLLOWED BY ORBITAL ATHERECTOMY. FINALLY STENTING WAS DONE TO LAD WITH EXCELLENT RESULT. PATIENT RECOVERED VERY WELL.
