Aortic Aneurysm Treatment
Dr. Sarat Chandra Successfully performed Percutaneous Closure of a large Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm with Excellent Results.
Dr. Sarat successfully did this procedure two days ago. The 65-year-old patient is doing good now.
The patient is a 65-year-old man, a reformed smoker, diabetic and hypertensive. He underwent bypass surgery 6 years ago. When he went to a physician for breathlessness on exertion, a CT chest was done and the aneurysm was diagnosed. His overall LV function was normal.
We implanted a 32mm× 80 mm device distal to the left subclavian artery. Dr. Ravi Raju did the dissection of the groin and exposed the right common femoral artery. The critical care team helped us by giving the required anesthesia. The patient got discharged the next day. The pictures are enclosed. Aneurysm of the aorta is a critical condition and carries huge mortality and risk.
